this afternoon we had a biker arrive at our front door, not looking too good and holding onto his arm. He was afraid he'd broken it. We brought him in, got him sitting down, and decided he hadn't broken it, but that his elbow wasn't so good. Got him something to drink, and eventually put him on the couch, lest he faint.
He and Colin (bike in the back) went off to the ER shortly thereafter. It's now almost three hours later...no word yet.
But, yeah, we do first aid :)

Overcast, but still busy
The hikers, the dogs, the bicycles keep going by. It's a bit overcast now, as some cloud cover moves through, but it isn't supposed to amount to much, so enjoy the time outside!
(and we've really got to change that photo!)
At 2 pm, it is 46 degrees and falling
40% humidity and steady
Barometer stands at 30.06 and steady
The Cascades and the brook both are still running.

Double post
Sorry; we're keeping records, but we aren't getting them up!
THURSDAY, 2/26:
34 degrees and rising
70% humidity and rising
30.21 inches of mercury and steady at 9 am
Cold with little wind
We saw our first mountain biker in quite some time today!
FRIDAY, 2/27:
At 9:42 it was 42 degrees and steady (though we did see it reach nearly 50 here today!)
98% humidity and steady (that was without any rain, which started much later in the day)
30.00 inches of mercury and falling (storm out in the Ohio River Valley)
Overcast skies and quite a bit of wind, increasing over the course of the day.
Fire danger is LOW
As of 8:30 it is 48 degrees and steady
96 % humidity and rising
Barometer stands at 29.80 and steady
Rain started around 7:30 here and so far we have 0.04 inches
If it stays this warm, we should be able to get a stream reading over the weekend.

A raw day
I heard this morning that there was a chance of snow. We appear to have missed that, but, boy, it is not pleasant out there! That does not seem to have slowed down the two bikers who just went through, however.
The rain has not been enough to measure so far
At 9:10, it is 42 degrees and steady
84% humidity
The barometer stands at 29.97 inches of mercury
Fire danger continues at MEDIUM
The Cascades are trickling.

Clear skies and construction
The excavator is busy next door; more trees coming down.
(And don't we all hope that none of them are maples with ALB??)
At 2:45 pm, it is 81 degrees
60% humidity and falling
Barometer is reading 30.27 inches
Fire danger is LOW, 'though expect to see it go up over the weekend if we get the clear skies forecast.
We've had some bicycles and a few dog walkers go through this afternoon.

A good drying day
(That's what we call these clear days with a bit of wind and low humidity here at the Lodge. With no dryer, it matters!)
We're having a slow morning here to recover from the platform moving last night. We had a GREAT crew of volunteers, who showed up ready to work and really threw themselves into it. From lifting to directing to hauling cinder blocks to speedy tree trimming, they did it all. Special mention to the younger set, who hauled dinner across the meadow for the rest of the crew. We barely got wet (super example of microclimates at work there) and enjoyed pizza, and, for those who were last to leave, brownies!
(And for those of you who were here: Bob's okay.)
We got .04 inches of rain last night
At 11:30, it is 68 degrees
61% humidity
Barometer is steady under clear blue skies
Fire danger is LOW
We had a group of mountain bikers come through an hour or so ago.

87% humidity with a few clouds
Barometer holding steady
Fire danger is MODERATE
The Cascades trail saw plenty of traffic yesterday: people, dogs, and a least one bike.

Out like a lamb?
This is the last week of March, and, while we've been lucky in our lack of storms, it's a bit too chilly to say it's really going out like a lamb. It's below freezing every night lately.
At 8 am, it's 26 degrees and rising.
50% humidity
Clear skies, with the barometer holding steady
Fire danger is MODERATE (not enough rain lately?)
Busy day on the trails lately: kids up on the Cascades, hikers, and at least one biker. Cars in and out of the parking lot all day.
Enjoy the sun!

Cascades and visitors update
The Cascades are running fast! Come and enjoy them.
This afternoon, in addition to two hikers and one intrepid bicycle-pusher, the members of Princeton Arts Society visited to paint the Cascades and the brook. The bridge on Cataract Street gives a great view in both directions.
