Cascading Waters can be found at 135 Olean Street on the eastern edge of Worcester's northwest parklands, the Cascades. The Cascades are 350 acres of park and conservation lands along the borders of Worcester, Paxton, and Holden, Massachusetts. Home to countless species of plants and animals, the Cascades are open to passive recreation year-round.

The bloodwort is up!

A sure sign of spring!

These little white flowers are among the earliest forest bloomers. They bloom, in fact, before they get their leaves out. You'll find them all over Cascading Waters once they're all up. These I found out by our back stone wall; the ones under the tree cover are a little behind and will be up in a day or two.

A health note: as much fun as it is to pick off a flower or leaf, smear yourself with the red sap, and run around yelling, "I'm bleeding! I'm bleeding!" (thus the name), the sap is toxic and can destroy skin cells. So don't.
